How do I find the owner of a new WooCommerce store?

Harder than Shopify, and for a useful reason. Where the contact details actually sit on a self hosted store.

Updated October 14, 20266 min read GuideOutreach

17,095 new WooCommerce stores launched in the last week and a domain is not a lead. Finding the person is harder here than on a hosted platform, because there is no standard structure to look in.

Why the usual methods fail

Contact databases need history. A business that started nine days ago has none, so it is absent rather than hidden.

Registration records are mostly redacted. Privacy services are the default at nearly every registrar.

Guessing an address format needs a pattern. A new domain has none, so you are inventing an address and paying for it in bounces.

Where WooCommerce actually keeps it

The WordPress site, not just the shop. This is the advantage. A WooCommerce store sits inside a website, and websites have about pages, author pages, team pages and contact forms that a bare storefront does not. There is usually more to find, it is just spread across more places.

Author bylines. If the site has any posts, the author name is frequently the owner. Nothing equivalent exists on a hosted storefront.

Policy and legal pages. Terms, privacy and refund pages often name a company or an individual, and in several countries a business is legally obliged to publish an operator identity. WooCommerce stores in those markets are considerably easier.

Contact and about pages. New owners publish more than experienced ones, because they have not yet learned what it costs them.

Verify before you send

Unverified sending is the fastest way to damage a sending domain, and new stores are the worst offenders for placeholder addresses and inboxes nobody has configured yet. A handful of bounces early can affect delivery for weeks.

FisherLeads extracts and checks owner contacts as part of the feed, which removes both the research and the bounces. Recievet handles the next problem, which is that having an address is not the same as reaching the inbox. Last confirmed October 14, 2026.

How do I find the owner of a new WooCommerce store?

Look at the whole WordPress site rather than just the shop: about and team pages, author bylines on posts, policy pages, and contact forms.

Why is it different from finding a Shopify store owner?

A WooCommerce store sits inside a full website, so there is usually more to find, spread across more places, including author bylines that hosted storefronts do not have.

Should I guess the email format?

No. Guessing needs a known pattern and a new domain has none. The bounces damage your sending reputation.
