About 2,442 WooCommerce stores launch every day and they are genuinely harder to find than Shopify ones. Here is why, and where to look.

WooCommerce is the hardest major platform to find new stores on, and that is precisely what makes it worth doing.

About 2,442 new WooCommerce stores go live every day, 17,095 in the last complete week. Supply is not the problem. Visibility is.

Why WooCommerce is harder to find

A Shopify store sits on Shopify's infrastructure and leaves obvious traces. WooCommerce is a plugin on a WordPress site, on any domain, on any hosting, with no central registry and no requirement to identify itself. There is no list anywhere. The only way to know a WooCommerce store exists is to fetch the site and recognise the software.

That is why most lead tools cover Shopify well and WooCommerce poorly, and it is why the competition for new WooCommerce stores is thinner than the launch numbers would suggest.

Where people look, and what each gives

WordPress.org. Gives you download counts for the plugin, not a list of sites. No individual store is identifiable from it.

Technology lookup tools. These will tell you what a site you already know about is running. Useful for checking, useless for discovering, because you have to supply the domain first.

General store databases. Coverage of WooCommerce is usually much weaker than their Shopify coverage, for the detection reasons above, and what is there tends to be sorted by when a crawler noticed the site rather than when the store opened.

A launch feed. A source watching domains from registration, fetching them as they come alive, and recognising WooCommerce when it appears. That is the only approach that produces new WooCommerce stores rather than known ones.

Ask what the date means

Same test as any platform, and it matters more here because WooCommerce coverage is patchier. Ask whether the date on a record is when the store launched or when a crawler first saw it. FisherLeads publishes an independent audit of its own records, a thousand drawn at random, 98.8% confirmed genuinely newly registered, with the records downloadable. Ask any other source for the same.

Figures from FisherLeads, which detects WooCommerce on any domain and confirms the store is live before listing it. Reaching the owner afterwards is Recievet's half. Last confirmed October 14, 2026.

Where do I find newly launched WooCommerce stores?

In a feed that detects WooCommerce on any domain and records a launch date. FisherLeads lists around 2,442 new WooCommerce stores a day.

Why is it harder to find new WooCommerce stores than Shopify ones?

WooCommerce is self hosted software on any domain with no central registry. The only way to know a store exists is to fetch the site and recognise the software.

Is there a directory of WooCommerce stores?

No official one. WordPress.org publishes plugin download counts, not a list of sites, and no individual store is identifiable from it.

How many WooCommerce stores launch each week?

17,095 launched in the last complete week.
