Where do I find Shopify clients?

3,200 Shopify stores launch every day and almost none of them have an agency yet. Where to find clients before the competition does.

Updated October 14, 20266 min read GuideShopify

Most agencies and freelancers look for Shopify clients among stores that are already trading. That is the hardest possible place to look, because an established store already has whoever it is going to have, and changing that means displacing someone.

The easier place is the other end. About 3,200 Shopify stores launch every day, 22,403 in the last complete week, and essentially none of them have hired anyone yet.

Why a week old store is an easier client than a year old one

There is nobody to displace. A founder in week one has not chosen a developer, a designer, an email agency or a fulfilment partner. You are not making a case against an incumbent, you are the first person to offer.

The problems are obvious and admitted. A new store has no traffic, no reviews, no email list and usually a theme barely moved from default. You do not have to convince anyone these are problems.

And the decision is small. A founder who launched last week is spending to get started, not reviewing an existing contract. The sale is faster and the first engagement is usually smaller, which suits both sides.

Where to actually find them

Not in directories or marketplaces. Everything there is ranked by popularity, reviews or install base, all of which require time to accumulate. A store that opened on Tuesday cannot appear in them.

Not by waiting for inbound. By the time a new store owner searches for an agency, they have already decided what they want and you are competing on price with everyone else in the results.

In a launch feed. A source that records when a store went live, filtered to the countries and categories you can actually serve, delivered daily. That is the only place a store that opened this morning can be found at all.

Filter hard, then go narrow

22,403 a week is far more than any agency can work. The filters are the skill. Country, because you need to be able to serve them. Category, because a pitch that names their vertical outperforms a generic one by a wide margin. And theme or apps, because those tell you whether anyone has been hired already.

A default theme and no apps beyond the basics is the clearest buying signal in this data. It means the founder has done everything themselves so far and is probably starting to feel the limit of that.

Reach them the same week

FisherLeads carries the launch feed with owner contact details attached, so the shortlist you filter is already reachable rather than a list of domains you then have to research.

The pitch has to arrive to work. Recievet turns a domain you own into a branded address that is authenticated from the first send, which is what keeps a cold first email out of spam. Figures last confirmed October 14, 2026.

Where do I find Shopify clients?

Among stores that just launched, before they have hired anyone. FisherLeads lists newly launched Shopify stores daily, around 3,200 a day.

How do I get Shopify clients as a freelancer?

Reach founders in their first weeks, while they are still choosing who to work with and there is no incumbent to displace.

How many new Shopify stores could I pitch each week?

22,403 launched in the last complete week, so filtering by country and category matters more than finding more volume.

What signals suggest a store needs help?

A theme close to default, few apps installed and a small catalogue usually mean the founder has done everything alone so far.
